The UWS’s pet-friendly parks and open-air cafes provide residents with a vibrant sense of community while still being just minutes from the excitement of Hell’s Kitchen, The Theatre District, Midtown, Chelsea Piers, and surrounding boroughs.

This largely residential neighborhood boasts upscale shopping and a variety of dining and entertainment options. Amsterdam Avenue is lined with acclaimed restaurants guaranteed to please the most fickle of foodies, while Broadway offers traditional NYC shops. The Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle provides a wide array of luxury retail and dining options.

There is also a wealth of kid-friendly activities and things to do in the area as well.

Getting Around

The Ashley and The Aldyn offer a complimentary shuttle service to 72nd and Broadway where you can connect to the 1, 2, and 3 lines as well as Columbus Circle where you can connect to the 1, A, B, C, and D lines.

Catch the 1 train and M5, M7, M10, M11, M66, M104 bus lines to and from Midtown, Downtown, and East side at Lincoln Center.

Attractions on the Upper West Side

The world-famous Lincoln Center is at the center of the UWS cultural scene, and this NYC icon is just minutes from our UWS apartments. This iconic performing arts space is home to the Metropolitan Opera, the New York Philharmonic, the New York City Ballet, the Juilliard School, and the School of American Ballet. There’s rarely an off-day at Lincoln Center; on any given day, there are several events to see.

For history buffs, the Upper West Side is home to the famed American Museum of Natural History. Filled with exhibitions of people and animals throughout the ages as well as an IMAX theatre, kids and adults could spend days in the Museum and still not see everything. When you visit, be sure to check out the giant whale, the T-Rex and of course, Hayden Planetarium.

Central Park is filled with anything a city dweller could need to escape: ponds, trails, and even a zoo! Paired with Riverside Park’s tranquil lawns and riverfront space, there are few better ways to experience nature inside New York City.

Just steps away from our Upper West Side apartments, the neighborhood boasts some of the trendiest new eateries in the city, ushering in a new era of great restaurants catering to upscale diners just looking for a quick delicious bite to eat.

UWS eateries range from the pickled, at Jacob’s Pickles on Amsterdam Avenue to the local and sustainable, at Telepan on 69th street. Some of the neighborhood’s notable restaurants include the legendary Boulud Sud across from Lincoln Center on 64th street, Jean-Georges, a French restaurant near Central Park, and Levain Bakery, a local bakery on 74th street.

Manhattan’s UWS shopping scene combines the best of national luxury retailers with unique boutiques and neighborhood fixtures.

The neighborhood is home to the Shops at Columbus Circle, which offers residents upscale stores and restaurants in true New York City fashion. Just a few blocks North of our UWS apartments, you’ll find Green Flea, the largest flea market in Manhattan.
